Japan Aug-Sep trip PART 2

Hiya! How's everyone doing :D
In Indonesia, tomorrow (Thurday 21 September) is a holiday!
Thus I decided to update my blog with more story of my previous Japan trip! >w<

Extra slack OOTD for Sunday (3 September)

In my previous blog post, I wrote a longggggg post about SuG and I mentioned that I cried a lot. The original plan for September 3 was actually to cosplay πŸ˜‚ but due to crying a lot + lack of sleep, I decided not to cosplay with puffy and red eyes. Instead, I slack and took my time wondering around the place that I've been wanting to go the most since my last visit in March

Lunch was Coco Curry!

One of my favorite chain restaurant from Japan is Coco that I frequently eat Coco when I'm at Singapore or Jakarta. Of course, Coco in Japan can be said as 3x more delicious! Glad to say that at least the difference in taste doesn't make me not wanting to eat Coco outside Japan though πŸ˜‚ because the quality of Coco in Singapore and Jakarta are still very good!
And I decided to dry dry curry instead of the normal curry, plus additional croquet!

Whether I cosplay or not, I've planned my itinerary for Sunday to be Ikebukuro. I mentioned before that Ikebukuro is the Akihabara for girls, or to be exact for fujoshi. And yes, this time, I really decided to stay the whole day at Ikebukuro XD

September 3 happens to be a day where ACOS, cosplay costume and accessories brand from Japan, makes a cosplay event at Ikebukuro Sunshine City! Actually it's more like a gathering of photographers and cosplayers as there's no convention nor any stage (no official booth, guest cosplayer, anisong singer etc)! The event was purely done at the whole building of Ikebukuro Sunshine City!

The official hall is inside Ikebukuro Sunshine City

The event hall and where we get the event's wristband

FYI, this event is not for free though later on, I think it's possible to participate for free (you'll get it after reading on my post πŸ˜‚)
I knew this event way before my visit, so I actually ordered my ticket online
Ticket for cosplayer and photographer is the same; 1500 yen
The event allows us to do photoshoot indoor (in the hall) as well as outdoor (a lot of pictures below~!)

The inside made me feel like 'why so little people' πŸ˜‚

But people are queuing for their wristband!

There were actually backgrounds set!

Cosplayer helping fellow cosplayer!

Ah, there are a lot of cosplayer taking picture of fellow cosplayer! I think it's a cosplay culture in Japan where friends help each other taking photo.

While searching for this event, I actually checked out various cosplay photo studio in Japan and a lot of studio sample pictures show cosplayer taking picture of cosplayer. not sure whether the one taking picture is the studio's staff or someone that the cosplayer doesn't know but I do think that instead of finding photographers, cosplayers just take photos with fellow cosplayers.
In a way, 2 cosplayers can use the same studio and share the cost? XD

And I went out from Ikebukuro Sunshine City

The event hall was at 2nd floor (though if we count from ground floor, it'd be the 4th floor) of the building. To reach the event hall, we use escalator inside Ikebukuro Sunshine City, walk outside a bit to another indoor where the event hall is. At the 'outdoor' area is where most photographer and cosplayer are at

A lot of familiar characters :D

By the way, when I asked for the wristband, the staff asked me whether I'm there as a cosplayer or photographer and of course I replied photographer πŸ˜‚
I'm not sure whether the same question was asked when I did registration and paid for my ticket online but there was not problem~

The outdoor rooftop area of Sunshine City is damn big....

There were also hidden spots!!

I started to walk further from the indoor area, thus can see the tall buildings :D

The same respectful line when taking picture!

Sie sind das Essen und wir sind die JΓ€ger!

More cosplayers as I walk further down

Apparently there's a stair case and I went down to the 3rd floor

I went down even more and I see more people.... (2nd floor, to the left)

AND I WAS SHOCKED πŸ˜‚ (2nd floor to the right)

When I checked the official website of the event, I only saw like 371 people participating
And as the picture showed, the event hall didn't show many people, nor was the rooftop
Thus I was really shocked when I see massive people as I went down the stair πŸ˜‚

I don't know I don't think only 371 people joined the event πŸ˜‚

It looks like there's forest in a city πŸ˜‚ Luckily it wasn't raining that day, or else I can't imagine having everyone in the event hall πŸ˜‚
But I honestly didn't expect this many people πŸ˜‚ it's just a gathering with no event whatsoever ><
In a way I respect Japanese cosplayer and photographer for joining ><

This event is commercialised for there's ticketing and people with ticket can have discount entering the Aquarium at Sunshine City :D
But I think it's possible to just join the event without paying either πŸ˜‚ I think the ticket owner privilege is simply able to go inside the event hall (though it's deserted..) and may be using changing room? I didn't get to check it as it's at another hall XD

In a way I'm happy that I didn't cosplay because it's so crowded plus it'd definitely be warm in that crowd πŸ˜‚ I needed to pamper myself from post-concert exhaustion πŸ˜‚

I walked back to Sunshine City and found LLS group! >w<

And so, my observation ended >w<
Time to my real (cough) Ikebukuro itinerary!

My lovely Otome Road!!!

I actually climbed up the 2 levels of stairs and went down 3 levels inside Sunshine City to find that if I were to go down right away from the 'crowded with cosplayers' area, I'd have reach Otome Road already πŸ˜‚

Right opposite Otome Road

It was definitely warm (see the sun ray~) and no cool wind that day πŸ˜‚

Drinks of the day~!

Lately I'm in love with orange juice and I'm kinda in an adventure (?) of finding orange juice to like (?) but this orange juice is awesome. That was my second time drinking it there, first time being few days ago before SuG's fanmeet. I can't wait to be back at Japan to drink it again!!!!
And I mentioned 'flavored mineral water'! That day I was trying peach water! It's not weird, just as expected >w<

Andddd I don't have any picture of Otome Road as I've wrote about it in my previous blog post back in March XD
but quick recap (?) is IT's just simply HEAVEN. For me who is now into 'seiyuu hell', it's heaven because there are definitely more seiyuu related item here compared to Akihabara.

First time going to K-BOOKS 'Cast-kan VOICE-kan'

After further inspection (?), there are 8 K-BOOOKS in Ikebukuro and one special store for second-hand Seiyuu goodssssss
And 9.3 was Yuuki Kaji's birthday (Eren Jaeger, Koichi Hirose, Melodias etc :D)

Difference with being in love with 2D characters is...seiyuu hell is more dangerous? πŸ˜‚
When I love a 2D character, I'll just buy merchandise (keychain, pin badge) and artbook and figurine but I tend to only buy 1 figurine for 1 character
But when it comes to seiyuu, I have a lot to purchase form Character song CD, Seiyuu event DVD, Live goods (even though I don't attend their live πŸ˜‚), Postcard and some seiyuu with music career have their own CDs DVDs and artist book------

CDs in Japan normally cost from 1500-3800yen? And DVD can cost from 4000-8000 and don't even mention blu-ray :x
in other words, I'm so happy that Japan has a lot of 'second-hand' stores πŸ˜‚ not only K-BOOKS but also Mandarake, LASHINBANG and BOOK-OFF----
I'll be writing about my loots in my next post πŸ˜‚

I also dropped by Ikebukuro's Animate, the biggest in Tokyo~!

Like the one at Akihabara, they are also promoting Saiyuki Reload Blast :D so happy to see my handsome uncles XD

And special corner for AD-LIVE!

This is one example of what I meant by 'I also want DVD by seiyuus' cause AD-LIVE is an annual show hosted by Suzumura Kenichi (Murasakibara, Iyami, Hikaru Hitachiin :D) that comes up with DVDs of the show too XD

Another thing as to why I'm very glad that I didn't cosplay is I wouldn't have enough time to hunt what's in my wish-list πŸ˜‚
I also considered going to Butler Cafe (getting more healing after SuG's hiatus LOL) but the place was fully booked and I've no regret since it meant I have more budget for my seiyuu love πŸ˜‚
Ikebukuro BANZAI πŸ˜‚

OOTD for DAY 5~!

Aim for DAY5 was Harajuku!
Another day that I was waiting for as well, because I was about to meet Ayako-san!

Satay-noodle

Last time, I didn't have the chance to go around CAT STREET
So I requested a day fully for Harajuku, starting from CAT STREET~!

Lunch was at this shop named Chao-Chao Bamboo~!

Coffee break with my parents and Ayako-san~!

We went to Kiddy Land~!

And in the afternoon, I was given the chance for my very first radio appearance in Japan!

I promoted VIVID GIRL and had Soba ni ite played~!

Thank you very much Madoka-san <3

It was a live internet TV broadcast!
The awaited Archive is now available at YouTube!
Check it here >w<

Coverage by local (Medan) media! >w<

Of course it'd be a lie if I say that I wasn't nervous πŸ˜‚
I'm lucky that it was a casual radio broadcast, where I don't need to use formal speech because that's what I'm weak at in Japanese πŸ˜‚

I'm really thankful to Madoka-san though it's more like I look up to her. It was our first meeting and yet as a host, she is very skilful that I didn't feel pressurised XD not to mention she so pretty <3

I've actually been listening to Japanese radio shows (/cough for my favorite seiyuus πŸ˜‚) and lately I'm really amazed by radio and live broadcast personalities, from interaction to how they control flow of conversation <3
I did a few live broadcasts before (mostly impromptu πŸ˜‚) and I still go 'errr what else shall I say' πŸ˜‚ but definitely I'd like to try and challenge it again when I have the chance for it! >w<

Dinner was Curry Noddle and Nikujaga <3

In a blink of an eye, September is already ending...
FYI, my blog's backlog is one last blog post for Japan trip and one blog post from Little Akihabara~!
While for my page, I'll be announcing online sales of my merchandise from Little Akihabara early October!
I actually took a week of lazying around after Little Akihabara (I only did one blog post last week) and back to business again this week!
And so as always, yoroshiku and stay tune! >w<

  1. Heee~ V as photographer. Xixixixi~
Uhm, true. I followed one radio station before and even though I do not understand what they talking about but I enjoyed watching and listening to their broadcast. It's like, are you sure this is live? So smooth and even if they did a mistake, good job on covering it! It's even like, the mistake is part of the broadcast!
